Tornadoes, Hurricanes and Sunshine

Picking up where we left off, we had just left Biloxi, MS and were on our way to Gulf Shores, AL. Because we are clearly "Foodie" people, we occasionally find ourselves in a position to try out different places and foods in our travels. Okay let's be honest, we do what we can to make that shit happen. The latest was a Diners, Drive-ins and Drives location called The Shed. It's a BBQ joint just outside of Biloxi, in Ocean Springs, MS. It's a quirky joint with good food and great atmosphere. We got there just after opening and it's good that we did. Not long after we got there the line was out the door. In the interest of full disclosure, the food was good, not great. But we're still glad we stopped, and would recommend a visit, if nothing else than to see the vast endless, unique property.

Back at Doc's in Gulf Shores we were able to get out our bikes and take a few trips to Orange beach and to a few restaurants that we didn't get a chance to go to last year. Turns out these are the stomping grounds of our friend Tim- (Stacey's Tim).

There was also alot of time spent at/in the pool reading. We caught up with Bob (the Gulf Shores version of Biloxi's Asher), and had a nice visit with him. We also met some people from Minnesota that love being on the road in their RVs, but can't get themselves to go full-time because they have houses on the lake. To be honest, it's hard to argue that point.

Our next stop after Gulf Shores was Florida Caverns RV Resort in Marianna, Florida. We were originally scheduled to be in Punta Gorda, but Hurricane Ian changed all that. This was a nice resort and we enjoyed the amenities and had really great neighbors.

For fun, we decided to have a bit of a photo shoot with Freda, that didn't turn out so well, but we shall try again at our next stop. Also had a few really nice walks with Stella. There was lots of walking, lots of pool time; both water and billiards, and a fair bit of corn-hole time. And yeah, at Doc's there was a storm that included a tornado touchdown not far from us and in Marianna there was a hurricane warning.

Paying attention to the weather is really crucial to this way of life. We have yet had to leave because of incoming weather, but we are on the lookout for it. Keeps life interesting.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have had most of this post written for a couple of months now, but somewhere along the way I lost my mojo and couldn't, until recently, find it. All will be explained in the next post, which you won't have to wait for long for. Until then....

Be Well, Be Happy, and Safe Travels
