I'm baaaack! And yeah, I know it's been a minute, and I wish I could tell you why I haven't written in so long. In my defense I've been doing lots of reading. Actually both Mike and I have probably read 30 books each these last 8 months. 6 of those months we spent hunkered down in one of our favorite spots.; Riverview RV Park in Vidalia, La. There, we also survived more than a few storms, including 2 that had the potential of taking out our little home on wheels. We like to think that my mom and his dad are looking out for us.
We did lots of walking, spent whatever time we could in the pool, and no, it's not heated. This is always entertaining, because when people ask; "is it cold"? Our first question is; "Where are you from"? When they say "the south", we tell them; "for you, yes.! for us, no. We are from N.E." I also did alot of 'puzzling'... so much so, that they gave me the nickname, "The puzzle doctor". The people at this park are absolutely some of the most wonderful people we've had the pleasure of knowing.
Since we've been on the road, I have found that it usually takes me only about 3 months before I get itchy feet. But this stop lasted 6 months! And not at one time did I feel the need to leave. In fact, the day we left we were really sad. I mean, we had some really great plans laid out, but we absolutely LOVE Riverview!
So, after 6 months, it was time to go. Circumstances beyond our control dictated the next 3 weeks. As some of you know, we made an "emergency" trip back to NH to see friends and family. Too much to go into. Let's just say life was happening in a big way, and we needed to get our eyes on some of our favorite people. We are so glad we did.
We are now in Minot, ND. We were here a few years ago when we were on our way to Montana (see Bruh! Why not Minot), and made fast friends with Amanda, and of course being able to spend time with Jason is the real inspiration.
There is so much to share with you and I apologize for leaving you out there hanging. In all honesty, I wasn't sure if I would continue this part of our adventure, but some really dear friends (Leon...Jackie, just to name 2) told me when we were in NH that I really should get back to it. It was great to hear, so great in fact, that between working here and catching you all up on our crazy adventures, I'm hoping to start writing a book.
I realize that this particular blog post is short and sweet, but seriously people, it's been 8 months, and clearly I'm a little off my game. Stick with me, I promise, I won't let you down.
In the meantime.....
Be Well, Be Happy and Safe Travels
