Go south, they said...it'll be warm they said...well I'm here to tell you that once again "they" LIED!!! We are in Vidalia, Louisiana and this is the shit we've been dealing with here this week.
I realize that our friends and family from the north are now playing the world's smallest violins just for us, but I don't care. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, it's my blog, so I'll write what I want, and right now I want to bitch about the weather! When I say it's freekin' freezing, I mean it literally! Monday night the temps dropped and the wind was relentless. I'm sure you can guess what happened by morning... 2 words: FROZEN PIPES! We also lost one of our filters.
Tuesday was riddled with anxiety, trying to get the water flowing again. Between Mike smashing his head and slipping on the ice, I wasn't entirely sure if Mike was going to stroke out or not. So we spent way more on a heated hose than we should have, but desperate times, call for desperate measures! And thankfully, when the temps reached 11 the water was flowing and when we woke up the next morning the water was still flowing. Whew!
The plan when we left was to avoid this kind of shit, but since we've been on the road we've experienced freezing temps for a couple of days each year. It's looking like this cold snap is going to be the longest one so far. But since I'm the forever optimist, I choose to look at it this way: Without the bad experiences, you really can't appreciate the good. With that being said, THIS WEATHER REALLY FREEKIN' SUCKS!!!
At some point the weather will get warm, and we'll start heading for NH via Missouri (for the eclipse)....
Until then...Be Well, Be Happy, and Safe Travels
Since we decided to stay in western PA this winter instead of traveling to FL I thought we’d have worst weather than anyone else but honestly, it doesn’t seem like we’d outrun the cold anywhere this winter! 🤷🏻♀️ Stay warm and stay safe! ❤️
We had two freezing nights here in South Texas! We survived without any frozen pipes. There is a definite advantage to having filters built in and not inline outside!
